The protecting agent for CO sulfur tolerant shift catalyst uses Co and Mo as the active components and special carrier. This protecting agent is used mating with CO sulfur tolerant shift catalyst. It can effectively absorb and remove the impurities or poisons, such as oxygen and coke oil, from the feed gas, thus protecting sulfur tolerant shift catalyst; moreover, it has certain shift activity itself, which can prolong the service life of CO sulfur tolerant shift catalyst to a certain degree.
